Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, unveil his seminal book, which x-rays frosty relationship between governors and their deputies titled: ‘Deputising and Governance in Nigeria.’

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, chaired the book launch which holds at NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.  Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is special guests of honour. Senator Kashim Shatima, and  Professor Umar Zulum Governor of Borno State, Deputy Governor of Kano State Dr Nasir Yusuf Gawuna were present

The book was reviewed by Prof. Attahiru Jega, former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Nigeria’s contemporary political history is replete with tales of incumbent/ deputy faceoff, which have occurred at national, sub-national as well as at local council levels. Unfortunately, these frosty and acrimonious relationships between two top leaders do not just leave behind lacerating scars, they have, on several occasions, constituted a serious threat to the peace, stability and development of geopolitical spaces.

They have also given birth to innumerable litigations, probes, policy shifts and reversals, as well as policy abandonment.

Ganduje, who has navigated the shark-infested waters expertly, decided to take a cursory look at the matter in his 355-paged book.
