His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR is leading the Kano delegation in China to, Kano State showcased its areas of investment opportunities to some potential investors.
The session which focused primarily on Agriculture, had several Chinese investors and other African leaders in attendance. Governor Ganduje in his remarks highlighted the key areas that the state is seeking for investments.
According to Govermor Ganduje, his administration has outlined 3 key areas for investment for this particular event. The areas are manufacturing companies for finished products using our leather in Kano, stating that Kano has one of the best leather in the world but most of it is shipped abroad and as such, the need to establish a factory that will be producing shoes, bags, belts and so on.
Other second area is cotton production, which will be the total value addition end to end, from improved seeds in the farm to spinning, weaving and knitting, in a bid to revive cotton production in the state in addition to rice and wheat that have witnessed huge increase in production over the last 2yrs. The 3rd is solid minerals which Kano is blessed with over 20 different mineral resources in the state.
Governor Ganduje and other members of his delegation also had an interactive session with some Chinese investors, Hunan Huawen Food Company Ltd that are interested in purchasing Soya Beans from Kano, and Jianing Agricultural Machinery Ltd that are interested in setting up tractors factory in Kano.
