The Kano State Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on 15th of November, 2017 meet with the Vice President of Islamic Development Bank, Dr Mansur Mukhtar at the Bank Headquarters in Jidda, on the issue of the proposed funding for the Kano State Integrated Agricultural and Water Resources Development Projects to the sum of $200 Million.
Governor Ganduje informed the Vice President that His administration has completed all the necessary arrangements to access these fund and also explained to on how the fund is going to be utilized i.e the Livestock, Animal Health Services, Crop Production, Yield improvement, Construction of 90mld Rural Water Treatment Plant, Upgrading of 6 Water Treatment Plants in the State which about 2 million farmers are expected to benefit from the scheme.
On his part, the Vice President of IDB Dr Mansur Mukhtar Commended Governor Ganduje on his efforts to see that Kano State have meet all the necessary requirements for accessing the fund within the shortest period of time and no any other State in Nigeria meet requirement for accessing the fund as he said and then assured the Governor that He is going to present it to the Management Board of the Bank next December.
The Governor was accompanied by Hon. Usman Sule Riruwai, Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Baba Halilu Dantiye Permanent Secretary Ministry of Environment, Hon Yahaya Adamu Garun Ali Managing Director RUWASA and the Chairman Technical Committee of the Project Alhaji Shehu Ibrahim.
