Kano State Governor Inaugurated Two Committee on Investment and Dubar

on 20th February 2018 His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR has inaugurated two committees; The Kano State Investment Committee chaired by Sarkin Kano Mallam Muhammad Sanusi II, and The Annual Durbar Enhancement Committee chaired by the Commissioner for Commerce, Mines and Industries Hon Ahmed Rabi’u.

The Committee on Investment which has the Sarkin Kano as its chairman is aimed at wooing investors to invest in Kano state, which according to the Governor, the personality of His Highness and his distinct records in different fields is enough to attract investors to the state.

While the Durbar Enhancement Committee which is being chaired by Hon Ahmed Rabiu the commissioner for commerce is aimed at the coordinating, enhancing as well as improving the organization of the historic annual durbar, which remains the biggest horse procession in the world, and has been sustained for over hundred of years in Kano.

The Governor read out the terms of reference for both committees accordingly, and urge the members to ensure that they work diligently in coming up with modalities that will make the two areas, more attractive to their potential target audiences.

Mai Martaba Sarki who spoke on behalf of both committees, thanked the Governor for setting up of these committees, which he described as timely, especially the durbar committee which he stated that, it has the potentials to attract huge number of foreigners, which will take Kano to another level.

Membership of the committees were drawn from both the state government and the Emir’s council members, with a representative from the state’s chamber of commerce and other stakeholders.
