Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a major political development in Kano State and across the nation.
This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Tuesday.
Speaking at an event held at the Coronation Hall, Government House Kano, Governor Yusuf described his return to the APC as a strategic decision taken in the overall interest of Kano State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He emphasized the need for unity, inclusiveness and collective commitment towards good governance and national development.
“After wide consultations, careful reflection and a sober assessment of the present realities and future of Kano State, I have taken the decision to politically align Kano State with the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party at the federal level,” the Governor stated.
Governor Yusuf explained that his alignment with the APC would enable Kano State to effectively support and leverage the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which aims to transform the nation in critical sectors including social welfare, infrastructure, housing and inclusive economic development.
In his remarks, former Kano State Governor and former National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, warmly welcomed Governor Yusuf into the party and assured him of full cooperation and leadership support within the APC in Kano State.
The Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, also congratulated the Governor on his decision and pledged his commitment towards achieving the shared objectives of the party and government.
Party leaders and other stakeholders present at the event described Governor Yusuf’s return to the APC as a significant boost to the party’s strength and future political prospects in Kano State.
