The Kano State Government in Northern Nigeria, and the U.S. State of Georgia are set to explore multiple areas of collaboration to drive development and strengthen bilateral relations.

This was highlighted during an official visit by Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, Executive Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, to Segun Adeyina, a member of the Georgia State House of Representatives, at the Georgia Capitol in Atlanta.

Accompanied by Ambassador Dr. Catherine Utsalo, Vice President of Prezens for Charity, and Wasilah Ibrahim Ladan, National Secretary of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Magaji’s visit laid ‘the groundwork for potential cooperation between the two regions.’

Discussions focused on fostering economic ties, enhancing revenue generation, and addressing public finance linkages.

It is also expected that Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, will receive an official invitation to participate in the Georgia Africa Legislative Caucus meeting.

Adeyina welcomed the delegation, expressing optimism about a productive partnership, while Wasilah Ladan and Dr. Utsalo extended their gratitude for the warm reception, hoping for lasting cooperation between Kano and Georgia.
